What are We Working On in April?

The HEFLC has four new teams who have been doing some exciting work!

Systems Change Action Team (SC) - The SC Action Team has been focused on advancing the Parent Café strategy. The first Parent Café is on April 30th. Flyer to come soon (be on the lookout– spots will be limited). Question for Parents: Start thinking about what “true liberation” is to you.

Communications & Special Projects Planning Team (CSP) - The CSP Planning Team has been focused on three projects: This newsletter, planning for the 5/31 In-Person HEF gathering, and organizing a community showing of the movie Origins.

Evaluation & Applied Learning Team (EAL) - The EAL Team has been meeting with the LEAH Center, our new evaluation partners.

Technical Assistance Action Team (TA) - The TA Action Team has been focused on supporting organizational teams as well as recruiting potential new Parent Leader Facilitators.

Long-Term Goals of The Healthy & Equitable Futures Learning Collaborative

Racial equity in whole child health so that Black and Latino children 0-8 in Monroe County are safe, supported, and thriving

Advance capacity building, systems, and policy change, and community advocacy across three levers for change:

Family leadership: Families participate as leaders and experts wherever decisions impacting children’s and families’ health are made.

Social-emotional Supports: Accessible and equitable social and emotional supports and safer places for children to play

Representative and Inclusive Systems: More Black and Latino leaders, staff, providers, and greater implementation of EDI policies and practices across organizations and systems.
